Custom domain
Connect a subdomain such as hr.yourcompany.com so your team opens Workalto on your hostname (Scale plan, owner with 2FA).
Steps
- Open Settings → Custom domain and enter the subdomain (not the bare domain).
- Add the exact records shown — usually one CNAME. Use the Name field as the subdomain label only (e.g.
hr), never the full hostname. The Value is Vercel’s project-specific target (rank 1); if none is returned yet, fall back to cname.vercel-dns.com.
- If a TXT verification card appears (domain used elsewhere on Vercel), add that too.
- Set Proxy to DNS only / off. On Cloudflare the cloud must be grey.
- Click Check now. Propagation is often a few minutes; allow up to 30 minutes.
The live check panel shows expected vs detected DNS:
- Correct, connecting — DNS points at Workalto (
misconfigured = false).
- Pointing somewhere else — update or replace the record.
- Cloudflare proxy is on — switch to DNS only (grey cloud). Cloudflare A ranges
104.16.0.0/13 and 172.64.0.0/13 mean the orange cloud is still on.
- No record found yet — wait and check again.
The domain becomes Active only when ownership is verified and DNS is not misconfigured.
